The Duel is written for two euphoniums. Throughout the piece, the performers are asked to playfully ‘compete’ with one another to find the winner. This resulted in a musical battle using various musical materials as tools for competing. Those materials consist of triplets as a rhythmic motif, singing into the instrument, body percussion and the dramatic acting out throughout the piece! The Duel was composed for Sompob Khornputsa and Jirapat Praeprasert in 2014.
