Program Note

Rhythmic Synchronization was composed for Silpakorn University Percussion Group and performed at the Yamaha Thailand International Music Competition 2024. The composer intends to demonstrate that despite the minimal selection of percussion instruments in a percussion ensemble, as long as it has dynamics ranging from piano to fortissimo it will create a compelling groove that resonates with both performers and listeners throughout the composition.

The name “Rhythmic Synchronization” is inspired by the rhythms in the performance of this composition, where “Rhythmic” means a pattern of sound, this composition represents Motif, and “Synchronization” means to coincide. In this composition, various rhythms diverge and then harmonize into a synchronized rhythm by the end of each section.
