Antecedents Overture

A homage musical piece to demonstrate respect, reverence, and dignity for my ancestors. A specific survey of my ancestor’s contextual information and selected musical identities from the cultural heritages were applied as musical materials for the creation of a new music composition. This piece consists of musical elements applied from folk music’s cultural of Isaan (Northeast of Thailand), combined the musical fragments from Morlam-Long Drum’s music of Thai-Isaan’s Culture (Lao Sarakham or Lao Thung Gula) and Chrieng-Kantreum’s music of Isaan-Tai’s Culture (Khmer Loeu or Khmer Surin) with the Composition Method of 21st Century Music in the perspective of Cross-Cultural Music transmission by musical taste and musical color of Contemporary Music for Wind Orchestra
