Chawin Temsittichok is a Thai composer whose works explore the interconnectedness of musical phenomena, culture, and history. His works are distinguished by vibrant timbre and effervescent ambiance, emphasizing the connection between sounds and extramusical references. Chawin’s music often draws inspiration from personal impressions, natural phenomena, and technological innovation. Incorporating his foundation in Thai traditional music, Chawin navigates across different artistic domains, weaving together contemporary sonic landscapes and Thai traditional musical elements.

Chawin’s music has been performed internationally in Thailand, Canada, the United States, Ukraine, Hungary, and Croatia. He is the winner of the SCG Young Thai Artist Award 2019, Ensemble Ibis call for score, and PYO call for score 2024 ‘Borderless’. He collaborated with several ensembles and orchestras including the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music Youth Orchestra, Ensemble Ibis, TACET(i) ensemble, Hong Kong New Music Ensemble, Gusto Saxophone Quartet, Sawasdee Woodwind Quartet, Frost School of Music Wind Ensemble, the Arx Duo, and The __ Experiment. At the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, Chawin obtained a Master of Music degree in composition and theory. He also holds a Bachelor of Music in composition from the College of Music—Mahidol University. He had studied with Valeriy Rizayev, Jason Thorpe Buchanan, Narong Prangcharoen, Dorothy Hindman, Juraj Kojš, and Shawn Crouch. He had also worked with Matthias Pintscher, Chen Yi, and Anthony Davis.

In addition to instrumental and electroacoustic music, Chawin composed and directed music in various musical theatre productions. He is the co-founder of Melocity Composer Collective and Seathencity. Chawin’s interests span scoring music for films, animations, and video games. He is also a boardgames and coffee connoisseur.
