The composer was inspired by the timbre of traditional Thai musical instruments and wanted to explore their essence through a solo piano piece. Three instruments were selected for this composition: These instruments were chosen based on the composer’s personal experience, either having played them or having been familiar with their sounds. The composer sought to translate their unique characteristics onto the piano, capturing the expressive ornamentations of the Pi, the striking and rhythmic patterns of the Ranad Ek, and the percussive nuances of the Pengmang. In the final section, these elements are brought together, symbolizing an ensemble performance where all three instruments play in harmony.
