Pawarisorn Assawachainarong (b. 2003) was born in Bangkok, Thailand. His musical journey began with the piano during primary school but he later became interested in percussion instruments, inspired by his growing interest. He joined the marching band at Saint Gabriel’s College, where his passion for percussion flourished. In pursuit of his musical aspirations, he earned a scholarship for music performance at Silpakorn University. There, he specialized in percussion instruments under the guidance of the highly talented Thai percussionist and composer, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Paopun Amnatham. He started playing percussion in middle school at Saint Gabriel’s College, where he competed in percussion ensemble in the first division group at the “World Music Contest” (2017) in Kerkrade, Netherlands. During high school, he auditioned and became a member of the “Thai Youth Wind” (2019). His interest in orchestras expanded during university, leading him to successfully audition for multiple orchestras such as “Siam Sinfonietta” (since 2022), “Thai Youth Orchestra” (since 2023), “Bangkok Metropolitan Youth Orchestra” (2023-2024), and “Silpakorn Summer Music School” (2024). He has participated in many competitions such as – World Music Contest 2017, Kerkrade, Netherlands (Percussion Ensemble): Gold Medal – International Virtual Contest 2024 (Solo): Gold Medal – International Virtual Contest 2024 (Percussion Ensemble): Gold Medal – Valaya Alongkorn Music Competition 2024 (Solo): Silver Medal Currently, he is studying music performance at Silpakorn University, specializing in percussion instruments at Silpakorn University. He also holds the positions of principal timpanist and co-principal percussionist in Siam Sinfonietta.
